User Friendly Pilates

Your core muscles—the deepest abdominal, lumbar, breathing, and pelvic floor muscles—protect your spine and prepare you for strenuous activities. Discover how to increase core strength and spinal flexibility with the proper awareness and mental focus to prevent injury. User Friendly Pilates integrates Pilates and Feldenkrais® Movement, with elements of  Yoga and Dance. It can help you learn to move more gracefully, balance better, walk easier, and get fit without getting hurt.

MONDAYS: 6-7pm, 11/3-12/15, Seven Classes, $95 series, $17 Drop-in 
Mixed-levels/Mats Provided

NEW! Pilates Moving Anatomy: A Guide to Mat Work & Core Stability (LEVEL II)

FRIDAYS: 12:00-1:30 pm, 11/7-12/19  (*No Class 11/28),  Six Classes + Private Session, *$235

Develop “inner body knowledge” about the structure, function and power of Pilates mat exercises. Discover the awareness and mental focus to get stronger without getting hurt, and investigate the key Pilates’ principles of breath, concentration, center, control, precision & flow. Experience in Pilates or Yoga highly recommended. Required Reading: “Pilates Anatomy“, by Rael Isacowitz & Karen Clippinger & The Pilates Body by Brooke Siler (you do not have to read the books before the class)

PREREGISTRATION REQUIRED: 510-619-9223 (LEVEL I students have priority). Experience in Pilates, Yoga or Dance recommended. Call if you have questions about your ability to participate.
